Global Account Manager (m/f/d)

Inspiring – Your Tasks:

  • Responsible for the Alstom Global Account incl. Indirect Business and its System Partners.
  • Drive positioning & visibility of Schaltbau within Alstom – build & support interactions between the international Schaltbau organization & Alstom at all levels (purchasing, R&D, quality, management…)
  • Understand customer rail platforms where Schaltbau is designed-in today and future opportunities to qualify as preferred standard globally
  • Responsible to map Alstom global projects and Schaltbau Opportunity funnel. Strong interaction with the Schaltbau local sales teams as responsible as “face to the customer” for local Alstom Business.
  • Review and optimize our “work with Alstom” country by country and optimize the cooperation and responsibilities with existing (or new) partners/distributors who are serving Alstom
  • Develop a growth a partnership strategy to grow the business globally
  • Documentation and creation of a Global Account plan. Establish cadence for communication of the plan and status to internal stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to cooperate and to develop Product- and Service Roadmap
  • Focus on global growth leverage and strategic opportunities such technical and commercial
  • Focus on customer R&D and Technology centers plus Buying Centers to position Schaltbau as preferred supplier and gain market share
  • Identify opportunities to cooperate and to develop product and service Roadmap
  • Recalibrating commercial process in terms of order placement, order routing, supplies, pricing etc.
  • Set up consistent pricing policies for all products and services including long term pricing strategies.
  • Lead the tendering process in cooperation with key stakeholders within the Schaltbau organization
  • Lead commercial agreements including Supporting documents such Quality, Logistics etc.
  • Perform market analysis, market shares and competition
  • Close cooperation with the Schaltbau Distribution team
  • KPIs are Order Intake, Sales, Margin, Design In, Funnel and Relationship Index/ Global Account Planning
  • Reporting to Director Rail Components and/or Team Leader Global Account Team

Convincing – Your Profile:

  • For this role we are looking for a Sr. Manager with >15 years professional experience as Global Account Manager, Key Account Manager, Leadership role in product Management and/or Product Management
  • Strong focus on organizing Technical and Commercial Conditions around the Global Account (direct and indirect business)
  • Ability to explore and create/finalize Business Opportunities across Product lines and Services
  • Ability to Structure and set priorities and drive business objectives, globally
  • Having worked with global organizations incl. international Distribution Partners as local sales partners.
  • Drive Partnership and Relationship across the Global Account
  • Articulate expectations, targets, and milestones (internal and with the customer)
  • Skilled at developing strategies and holding teams (internal and external) accountable to execution
  • Sound business driver, analytical, well organized and demanding on its partners
  • Ability to communicate and influence resources (internal and external) is the key to success
  • Capability of interfacing with Segment Leaders, Production and Operations, Application Engineering, Product Management, Marketing & Communications and Senior Management.
  • Degree in business and/or engineering field (electronics/ electrical / mechanical, Industrial Engineer)
  • Electrical engineering Background is a benefit.
  • Candidate has experiences to manage as a business owner with strong leadership and entrepreneurial mindset in a global organization of a midsize company.
  • Experiences in working with Global Railway companies within Rail Stock.
  • Manager with experience in solving sales/business tasks (organization, working process, priorities, objectives/KPIs, growth plan and market development)
  • Candidate has worked with direct and indirect sales
  • Candidate has work experience in international company and working with cross boarder teams and functions
  • Experience in selling successfully electronic components (catalogue type but need to understand/explain application and datasheets)
  • Strong Leadership and excellent Communication and relationship skills
  • Experience with Marketing and Sales Campaigns
  • Exposure to large company processes and KPI driven
  • SFDC knowledge or alternative CRM tool experience
