The 8th Silicon Vilstal Experience Festival will take place this year from September 21 to 24 in Vilsbiburg under the motto “Everything flows”.
Silicon Vilstal is an innovation platform from Lower Bavaria that aims to promote open social innovation and make digital opportunities of rural regions tangible. The event is made possible by the cooperation of a wide variety of partners in the region. One of them is Schaltbau GmbH.
“We are delighted about this initiative and are glad to support it. The Velden site is very important to us, as we have been producing here since 1973 and are thus one of the largest employers with around 360 employees. A sign of our commitment as an innovation driver in the region is also our new factory “NExT Factory”, the first DC factory worldwide. Thanks to its own PV roof system, it produces 100% with green electricity and is therefore CO2 neutral. In addition, it operates exclusively with direct current from generation to consumption – a first in the productive sector. The factory secures high-quality jobs and apprenticeships in the long term” – says Rainer Pitz, plant manager of the NExT Factory in Velden, which celebrates its opening in September.
This year the festival campus will be set up on the Vilsbiburger Färberanger behind the town hall. Participation is free of charge and possible without registration. There will be regional food and delicious drinks in the enjoyment mile next to the Vils. The heart of the experience festival is the colorful experience village with many visit and trial offers, e.g. Tinyhouses, hydrogen world, many action booths and hands-on workshops.
A special highlight there on Friday and Saturday is the “Innotruck” of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. This is a huge two-story truck that contains a large innovation lab on 100sqm to participate in.
The event promises not only informative insights into the latest developments in the region, but also a lot of fun and culinary delights.
