DC contactors for zero-emission shipping
The pressure for sustainability and emission reduction is also increasing in the shipping industry. A globally recognized trade and networking event dedicated exclusively to the electrification and hybridization of ships and the associated infrastructure for ports, charging stations and energy supply will be held in Amsterdam from 20.6. – 22.6.2023.
Schaltbau GmbH will be presenting itself there for the first time to this emerging industry: it is expected that more and more electric ships will be commissioned in the coming years and that electric shipping will make a significant contribution to the sustainable development of the maritime sector.
DC contactors, which Schaltbau will be exhibiting at booth no. 5042, will also contribute to this:- DC contactors for battery packs in electric ships reliably disconnect the load circuit of the battery from the rest of the system, as well as from the charging station.
- HV DC contactors with the highest safety standards are used in the charging infrastructure. In charging stations, they ensure fast and safe charging of electrically powered ships.
The DC contactors on display are DNV certified and therefore ideally suited for maritime use.
