The MES Expo has its premiere from 5 to 7 November 2019 in Berlin. As a cross-industry event, the MES Expo has become a platform where electronics suppliers can discuss about the demands of the mobility sector, and exchange know how and solution concepts for all modes of transport from rail and commercial vehicle to automotive.
Schaltbau GmbH supports this approach of the MES Expo and is represented as an exhibitor at the event. Due to decades of experience in safety-related rail applications, Schaltbau has grown to meet the special requirements in the stationary energy storage environment as well as in the e-mobility sector with its entire range (e-bus, e-truck, e-car, etc.) in all respects. The technology of the DC contactors, which we successfully use in the railway sector, can be transferred to e-mobility applications.
At the MES Expo we will be presenting the innovative DC contactors of the C310 series. These bidirectional DC contactors can safely switch high voltages and currents irrespective of current direction, and are ideal for all applications with energy recovery.
The C310 series can be used as the main contactor in the BDU (Battery Disconnect Unit) of battery-powered and hybrid vehicles. This contactor reliably disconnects in case of failure and ensures galvanic isolation between the battery and the rest of the vehicle’s electrical system. Our innovative technology Free Air Contact System will prevent an explosion of the contactor in any event during a critical situation.
Thus, Schaltbau contributes to make electrically powered vehicles much safer which leads to a higher acceptance of electromobility in the society.
