The factory at the high-tech location Bavaria, known internally as “NExT Factory”, will become one of the most modern production facilities of its kind.
With the official ground-breaking on Monday, November 23rd started symbolically the construction work for a new production plant in Velden. Schaltbau managing directors Dirk Konrad and Michael Leuchte, board spokesman Dr. Albrecht Köhler and his designated successor and board member Dr. Jürgen Brandes opened the ground-breaking ceremony. Special guests were Mayor Ludwig Greimel and District Administrator Peter Dreier. In their speeches, they praised Schaltbau’s commitment and emphasized the importance of the project for the region.

The plant, known internally as “NExT Factory” Project, will in future be one of the most modern production facilities of its kind. “NExT” symbolically stands for the four dimensions of New Energy, New Work, Excellence in Processes and Technology-driven. In essence, it is a CO2-free energy concept, new and transparent working environments, excellent value creation processes and the sensible use and expansion of technologies along the value chain.
Dirk Konrad, Managing Director of Schaltbau GmbH says: “In the new plant, we are almost self-sufficient in terms of our energy supply. Our concept enables us to achieve sustainable, CO2-free production over the long term. Modern workplace environments that take into account the EHS guidelines (Environment, Health and Safety) will also attract future talents. At the same time, we rely on digitally networked and automated production processes and modern logistics in order to be able to respond even more flexibly to individual customer requests in the future. “

In the new plant in Velden, Schaltbau GmbH develops and manufactures electromechanical components such as contactors, connectors and switches for a wide range of direct current applications in industry, the railways and in the new markets. Michael Leuchte, Managing Director Development and Sales at Schalbau GmbH, emphasizes that the project is the necessary step to support the planned profitable growth of the Schaltbau Group in the rapidly growing future markets of E-Mobility and New Energy as well as DC industry.

The completion of the new plant is planned for autumn 2022.
